How do you know what a dream is if you have never accomplished one?

How do you know what an adventure is if you have never taken part in one?

How do you know what anguish is if you have never had to say goodbye to your friends and family with your eyes full of tears?

How do you know what being desperate is if you have never arrived alone in a new place and not understood a word of what everyone else was saying?

How do you know what diversity is if you have never lived under the same roof with people from all over the world?

How do you know what tolerance is if you have never had to get used to something different, even if you don’t like it?

How do you know what autonomy is if you have never had the chance to decide something by yourself?

How do you know what it means to grow up if you never stopped being a child to start on a new course?

How do you know what it is to feel helpless if you have never wanted to hug someone but had a computer screen prevent you from doing so?

How do you know what distance is if you have never looked at a map and thought to yourself “Wow… I am so far away from home”?

How do you know what language is if you have never had to learn one just to make friends?

How do you know what patriotism is if you have never shouted “I love my country!” while holding a flag in your hands?

How do you know what the true reality is if you never had a chance to see a lot of them but make one of your own?

How do you know what an opportunity is if you have never caught one for yourself?

How do you know what pride is if you have never experienced it for yourself when you realize just how much you have accomplished?

How do you know what it means to seize the day if you have never seen time flying by so fast?

How do you know what a friend is if circumstances have never showed you who the true ones are?

How do you know what family is if you have never had TWO that supported you unconditionally?

How do you know what boarders are if you have never crossed your own to see what was on the other side?

How do you know what imagination is if you have never thought about that moment when you step off the plane and are finally home?
